This Week's Report

The process of creating a new habit has been fun, exciting, and also a bit challenging. It has kind of brought me back to when I was trying to stop biting my nails. It's a nasty habit I know. When I was about 10 I decided to stop biting my nails. I don't recall why I wanted to do this, and I didn't know how. At first, I bit my nails more often than not. But with consistency the desire to bite my nails diminished. I haven't bitten my nails since. Was I perfect the moment I chose to stop biting my nails? No way, but I didn't beat myself up if I did. I just learned a new habit.
This is how my exercise has been. I get my workout in easier if I do it first thing in the morning. I haven't woken up "early" for about 10 years. I really felt like I needed to do this in the last 3-4 weeks. The first week I woke up and worked out 2 times. Those three other days (I'm only working out weekdays) I didn't beat myself up, I just planned to do better the next week. Week 2 I did a little better (3Xs). This past week I did 4 work outs- 3 cardio and 1 weight training. These just happen to be what I love to do. Find what you love and do it. If you hate to run, don't run. If you love to lift weights, then Do IT. It doesn't matter what form of exercise you choose so much as being consistent.
Just remember to be gentle with yourself thought wise when you're beginning a new habit.
