Friday I got a good workout in. Was on the treadmill and burned 350 calories then went outside and pulled nasty weeds for over an hour. I do not know how much burning I did with that, but I feel it today!
I am suffering from a lot of bug bites though. :( But it was worth it!

Lots of Fun
Today's workout was just fun! I started by running the track- just once around with some shin pain so I headed to the gym. Did the elliptical for half and hour then I did circuit training doing running in between weights. Now that was just FUN! Afterward I did a walk/run for another mile.
Before I left I found my tape measure and took some measurements. I lost 1/2 an inch off my right arm going from 13 to 12 1/2 and my stomach lost another 1/2 inch from 33 1/2 to 32 1/2! My ribcage going down from 33 1/2 to 32 1/2! Wow! So, inches lost: 2~ I had gained 5 pounds with my injury and am down 4 now. (145) I'm back on track, girls! 130 is the next number I'm working towards. :)
Here are today's stats:
Run- Miles: .57 Calories: 57 Minutes: 8ish (not sure)
Elliptical- Miles: 4.25 Calories: 425 Minutes: 33
Circuit Training- (biceps, shoulders, running) Miles: .57 Calories: 435 Minutes: 50
Run/walk Treadmill- Miles: 1.00 Calories: 100 Minutes: 15
Totals:
Miles: 6.39
Calories: 1017
Minutes: 106

2 days in a row!
It is late here and I am headed to bed, but I wanted to put out there that I did another 45 minutes on the treadmill. 2 days in a row!!! Go me!
45 min-301 calories
I have been out all day walking around too. I had to go shopping at costco, and had a bbq that I did not sit down at! Im sure i did some burning of the cals there too... my legs are so sore and I can barely walk around right now! :) (and that makes me happy?) lol.

Feeling Great!
Well, it has been a couple days since my switch and I feel great. It has not been perfect but I am aware of what I am eating. I have been on the treadmill as well, and it makes me feel really good to know that I am changing my bad habits.

Theresa
Hey all! Shiloah has invited me to post a little bit about my weight loss journey so here it goes. I'm a mother of three girls and a wife to a great man who serves in the Army. My weight issues started back after I had my first baby in 2002. I've yo yoed around since then. In January I decided to get serious about being a healthy mommy, wife, and woman. It's been 21 weeks and I've shed 32 lbs thus far. My overall goal is to get rid of a total of 50lbs.
Everyone always asks what the secret is. I'll let you in on it....working your butt off literally! I spend forty-five minutes to two hours working out five to seven days a week. I also count calories. I never restrict what I eat but I do make healthy choices and if I want something yummy it's fine as long as I stay within my calorie count for the day.
Here is a few pics of where I began in January and where I'm at now:
Monday's Workout
Wow, what a workout. I ran the track for the first time since my injury. Hubby didn't think it was only half a mile so we recalculated on mapmyrun.com and it is .57 around by our estimates. So today, I ran 2.85 miles! Yeah! That means I ran 4.5 miles last time not just 4 miles. Yeah!
Then we met with friends at the gym and hubby did some weight training with me.
Ran: Miles-2.85 Calories-285 Minutes-40 (It was mostly hills)
Bike: Miles-4.40 Calories-99 Minutes-15
Weights: Calories-200 Minutes-60
(Legs, Stomach, triceps, shoulders)
Totals
Miles- 7.25
Calories- 584
Minutes-115
Man, I feel like I burned more, but whatever, it was a great run so I'm happy. :)

It is time
So, I know I said a few months ago that I would do low carb, and I tried 2x, but I think it is starting to sink in. I am doing it again. Today is my first day and I am feeling good. I am hungry, but other than that I know I am making the right choice. I received pictures in the mail from my Mom the other day. In March we took family photo's for the first time!
This is me in March of this year. I am ready to change myself back in to the person I know I am, and not the person I currently am.
They turned out neat, except for one thing... I did not even recognize myself. I knew it was me next to my step-dad, but if I didn't know that, then I would have thought it was someone else. I felt ashamed when I saw that picture. How did I let myself get so big? Why did I do this to myself?
I know my weight is on everyone's mind at the moment. My darling husband has been so supportive, but lately I think his positiveness has turned into desperation. He is not a shallow man, and looks past the outer appearance, but I think that even though he can do that, he is feeling like "where did my wife go"? I am sure he looks at pictures of me at even just 4 years ago, and thinks, "i want her back". These are just my words that I am putting in his mouth, but with his pleas for me to work out and eat right, I can see them running through his mind.
My kids are noticing my weight too. My oldest son (6) says that i have a large rear, and that I am squishy. He says other things that are not nice so I wont put them in here. My daughter (9) says I am pretty, but that she wants me to be healthy, and I should lose weight so I am healthy. A 9 yr old tells me this.... My 3 yr old does not know any better yet! Thank goodness!!!
I have eaten healthy all day and can feel it already! I feel wonderful and do not feel weighed down by greasy, fatty food.

Friday
I am feeling so much better and am tired of piddling on the weight loss for the last couple of months so it's now time to get down to business. I did a much longer workout today. The gym was quite empty this morning when we came in. It was nice. I'm guessing everyone is waiting for the pool to open this afternoon.

Thursday
I took a break Wednesday to take it easy. I've been a little tired after the move and recovering from injury and sickness. I'm getting back into the groove, though. Today was a quick gym visit.
I hopped on the elliptical and put it on level 7 with the arm blaster, which took me from level 3-21 during my time on there. Wow, it was a Fun, KALORIE KILLER! :) Hubby went with me today and gave me more weight training. I did a lot more tricep and shoulder weights today.

Tuesday
Today is my hot hubby's birthday so we may go to dinner and I'll get another salad like I've been eating lately.
We're now officially out of the other house and into the new one. Check out the other blog later today to see pictures.
Yesterday's short run brought small fresh bruising to my knee so I decided to take it easier today. I hopped on the bike for 45 minutes instead.

Long Friday
I started late at the gym, but I worked out hard. I had no knee pain at all and am so thankful! I still am getting an MRI as I still have bruising that has spread down my shin and pain when I try to kneel or touch it. Here are today's stats. I really ought to add up the hours I spent packing, moving, and unpacking boxes today too. Whew, I worked up a sweat. :)

Wednesday I Did 5 Miles
I can bend my knee all the way now with a little bit of tightness and some soreness. The bruising isn't gone yet. I go back into the Dr.'s tomorrow. It's been 13 days since the injury and I tried the elliptical on a lower level (with the arm blaster, though) and had NO pain for the workout. I am sooo thrilled! It felt great to be working out hard again! I had three girlfriends to workout with today. It was fun!

Monday's Workout
I did the p90X abs Ripper X on Friday last week, but today I consider as my first real day of exercise after the injury. It was still too painful to ride the bike and I tried both varieties at the gym. Instead I lifted weights and worked on my arms. Then I came home and did Abs Ripper X. That is some powerful stuff!!! Wow

Knee Injury
Here's the story:
Thursday, after running three miles, I wasn't paying as close attention to the path as I should have so I tripped on a tree limb and fell hard onto my right knee. I got back up, brushed off and didn't think anything of it and continued to run until I reached 4 miles. I felt no pain.
During my shower a large lump started forming on my right knee and by the time I was dressing, I could barely move my knee and it was swelling fast.
A friend took me to the ER where I met hubby and THANKFULLY it is not broken and nothing is torn. However, it is sprained, bruised and swollen so I have a huge knee brace, crutches and serious pain meds.
The GOOD news, is I can run again as soon as the pain is gone. Bad news is I'm on crutches while moving and have to be off the leg for 3 days. It has been three days and I still can't bend the knee so I'm going in for a follow up.
Here it is today:

I hope I will be moving better by this week for our move! Eeek.
