Since I wrote on here. Thought I would share some things we've been doing.
Curtis and I started working out together and trying to diet. Mostly we are watching portion control, since I'm having an idiot attack and cannot figure out how to count calories. We've been going for one month. Here's our stats:
Curtis: was 260, now 250
Dawn: was 164, now 160
I'm trying to understand that I'm still breastfeeding and that I'm a woman, and women just do not loose weight like men. I have yet to take measurements of us, since I can't find our tape measure. Yet another side effect of having all these kids: things grow legs and walk off (at least they appear to be getting good exercise).
We are getting up at 6-6:30 to work out. Curtis has been really good about getting breakfast and eating three meals a day, as he used to skip quite a few meals and then binge at night. These are the things we are doing for exercise:
Walk Away the Pounds, 3 miles and on short days the 2 mile video. She does some rubber band exercises in the video as well for arms and abs. 2 times a week.
Tai Chi. Good gravy, has anyone done this? The workout is 90 minutes long and my mantra for this: "no jelly legs, no jelly legs". 1 time a week.
Interval training: Curtis had a great idea for this, since the one I was trying to do left you crippled for a week. Get a deck of cards. Black number cards are the number of push ups. Red number cards are sit ups. Black face cards were 15 of arm exercises: circles, weight lifting, rubber band exercises. Red face cards were 15 of leg exercises: jumping jacks, water hydrants, leg lifts. I am proud to say that I have been able to do all the push ups. 6 months ago, I could only do 1-3. 2 times a week.
I've noticed I'm a lot hungrier, but we've been better about getting to bed at a normal time and getting more rest. I've tried to get back to taking vitamins on a normal basis, even got some for Curtis now too, and we are all taking fish oil, flax seed and magnesium. Portion control has been hard to do but my mom got us some 5x7 inch plates and you can't really fill those up like 12 inch plates, which is a good thing. So, more to follow.
SHiloah, you are looking wonderful!! You go with your bad self! ;)
